Summer in Valteřice

Valterice is the ideal place for active relaxation even in summer. If you are tired of the city hustle and bustle and want to escape for at least a few days, you will hardly find a more suitable place than this village where our cottage “Jindriska” is located. The dominant feature of Valterice is the Empire Church of the Uprising of the Holy Cross, built in 1832. The closest "civilization" with shops and hospitality is about 4 kilometres away from Valterice in Vyprachtice and Heroltice. Otherwise, wherever the eye can see, only hills, meadows and dense forests. Perfect tranquillity.

From Spring to Autumn

If you decide to come in the summer months, then you can relax and watch the deer grazing near the windows of the cottage. When you get tired of lounging, the surrounding area offers you a wide range of relaxing activities to fill the moments of your holiday.

From spring to autumn, you can take hikes to the surrounding area and enjoy the abundant virgin nature. You must go hunting for mushrooms, blueberries or forest strawberries. If you are a more active tourist, you will surely be interested in the fact that the blue tourist trail runs through the nearby Vyprachtice, whose starting point is in Lanskroun, about 18 km away, and its goal in the village of Cenkovice on Bukova Hora, just 3.5 km from Valterice.

In the vicinity there are several marked local cycling trails, so taking a shorter or even a whole day bike ride is not a problem. One route takes you to the nearby Vyprachtice where you can go for fresh pastries every morning.

If you are interested in the history of Vyprachtice, then you will surely not forget the few sights of Vyprachtice, as the first mention of the village dates back to the beginning of the 14th century. It’s worth stopping at the Empire Church (Kostel Proměnění Páně), several old chapels, one of which was built to Honour of the Mother of God (Matky boží) is dated back to 1769, the statue of John of Nepomuk from 1793 or the statue of the Holy Trinity. There are also several original folk timbered houses.

The Walk in The Clouds Is Waiting for You

If you don’t mind to take a little longer trip from Valterice, we suggest visiting the village of Dolni Morava, which contains an interesting tourist attraction known as the walk in the Clouds. At an altitude of 1116 m above sea level, the trail can be reached on foot, by bike or choose the most comfortable option, the cable car. The trail itself rises up to 55 meters and there are some other adrenaline attractions waiting for active visitors. From the top of the trail you can see truly unrepeatable views of the Kralicky Sneznik massif and the valley of the Morava River.

At the end of the day you will have only the divine silence and deserved lounging in the peaceful Valterice in our cosy cottage. In the evening, you can sit out or dine outside on the terrace, use the outdoor grill or roast sausages on the fire.
